Scholarships are available for children of NFT members. If your child is a senior and plans to attend college next year, please encourage them to apply for the NFT Scholarship. The application may be downloaded here. The deadline to apply is April 30, 2013.

Do you have a plan for retirement? At a recent CalSTRS workshop the presenter shared how many teachers' "plan" is to work until they can't stand it anymore and "hope" they had enough to retire on. Guess what? "Hope" is not a plan.
Be familiar with your CalSTRS defined benefit plan. Start by looking at your CalSTRS statement. Have you designated a beneficiary (Page 3)? What about the Defined Benefit Supplemental account listed in the statement? How will you designate this?
