The Novato Federation of Teachers, representing dedicated educators across Novato Unified School District, proudly stands in support of our superintendent and school board as they work to create an inclusive and welcoming environment for all students, including immigrants and members of the LGBTQ+ community.

As educators, we recognize that every child deserves a safe, supportive and affirming school environment where they can thrive academically and socially. The commitment of our district’s leadership to supporting all communities is essential to ensuring that all students—regardless of their background, nationality, gender identity, or sexual orientation have the opportunity to succeed.

Novato Federation of Teachers believe in the power of education to transform lives and that means standing up for every student.  We commend our superintendent and school board for taking meaningful steps to protect the rights of immigrant and LGBTQ+ students, ensuring that our schools remain places of safety, acceptance and opportunity.

NFT membership celebrates and supports the district’s ongoing efforts, which include becoming a Sanctuary District, implementing inclusive policies and ensuring access to necessary resources and support for students and families. These actions reaffirm our shared commitment to creating an inclusive and supportive community for all to learn in.

We urge the community to join us in celebrating and reinforcing these values. Now more than ever, it is crucial to stand together in protecting the dignity and well-being of every student, regardless of their identity or background.
